Kanthal® DT is a ferritic iron-chromium-aluminium (FeCrAl) alloy particularly suitable for applications using close wound coils. The grade is characterized by a highly adherent and dense surface oxide that prevents short circuiting between adjacent coil turns.
A typical application for Kanthal® DT is as electrical resistance element, in ribbon form, in cigar lighter coils in automobiles.
