Moduthal® heating modules
Moduthal® is a versatile heating module that is designed to be suitable for a wide range of thermal processing applications, with element temperatures reaching up to 1,350°C (2,460°F). The Moduthal® heating modules are constructed by encasing element coils in a high-quality non-electrically conductive ceramic material. To accommodate various applications, the resistance material is primarily made from Kanthal® A-1 and Kanthal® AF resistance alloys. A fiber-free version of Moduthal® is also available for temperatures up to 1,250°C (2,280°F).

Characteristics
Types of Moduthal® heating modules
Type of module | Description |
Fully embedded |
Although being a fully embedded panel, most of the heating element is covered with a thin layer of refractory material allowing the element to radiate more efficiently.
|
Semi-embedded |
A conventionally designed panel that offers a cost-effective solution to applications that do not require higher temperatures.
|
Free radiating |
Unique design that allows 75 % of the heating element to freely radiate.
|
Free-radiating high temperature |
A combination of ceramic casting with freely radiating Kanthal® APM material elements.
