Horizontal and vertical diffusion cassettes
Fibrothal® diffusion cassettes, available in light and heavy gauges, are designed and oriented horizontally or vertically depending on their intended use.

Horizontal cassettes
- Cassettes are typically for <= 200 mm wafers.
- Atmospheric Process temperatures can be 600 to 1,350°C (1,112 to 2,462 °F).
- LPCVD process temperatures can be 300 to 1,000°C (572 to 1,832°F).
- Horizontal equipment is fairly manual, and automation is typically not integrated into the customers' fabrication units.
- Typically, there are three to five control zones for horizontal cassettes.
Vertical cassettes
- Cassettes are typically for >= 200mm wafers.
- Atmospheric Process temperatures can be 600 to 1,350°C (1,112 to 2,462 °F).
- LPCVD process temperatures can be 300 to 1,000°C (572 to 1,832°F).
- Equipment is highly automated within the customers' fabrication units.
- Typically, there are four to seven control zones for vertical cassettes.
